Travel Grant Application will be accepted until April 24, 2026 - grab the chance before it’s too late!

APVRS is pleased to offer up to 5 Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grant to young vitreoretinal specialists attending the 19th APVRS Congress in Gold Coast, Australia. 

Priority will be given to applicants who are below 40 years old, from a developing country, and whose presentation(s) have been accepted as part of the Congress scientific program. Recipients who live outside of the Congress host country (Australia & New Zealand) will each be awarded US$500, whilst those from the Australia & New Zealand will receive US$250.

 

You may complete the online application form by logging in to the APVRS Congress system at https://congress.2026.apvrs.org/. Selection results will be announced by the end of May.

Make the most of the coast

The Pacific Ocean offers visitors the opportunity to experience its refreshing saltwater through a range of activities suited for both adventure seekers and those looking to unwind.

Many of the beaches along this coastline are renowned for their clean waterways, vibrant coral reefs, diverse fish species, and unique marine life such as Nudibranchs and Wobbegongs, making them ideal locations for snorkelling and scuba diving.

For guests preferring a more leisurely pace, relaxing beneath palm trees or swimming at Main Beach provides an enjoyable alternative. Always remember to swim between the designated safety flags.

Get up close and personal with the menagerie of weird and wonderful animals that Australia calls home at one of the Gold Coast’s enchanting wildlife parks. Experience a genuine farm and wildlife experience at Paradise Country, where you can meet koalas and kangaroos, and see the Australian Stock Horse show in action. Further afield, the Historic Rivermill is surrounded by hinterland and provides opportunities to relax, have a picnic and see wild turtles that call the Coomera River home.
